Maria Thrasyvoulou, MSc
Research Laboratory Officer
Academic qualifications
- BSc in Biological Sciences, University of Cyprus, Cyprus
- MSc in Biomedicine, Lund University, Sweden
Research interests and expertise
During her MSc, Maria contributed to the development of a novel cancer immunotherapy based on the direct in vivo reprogramming of cancer cells into dendritic cells to initiate systemic anti-tumour immunity.
Her research focuses on translational cancer immunology using preclinical mouse models. Her main interests include developing novel immunotherapeutic strategies, improving immune checkpoint inhibitors and adoptive cell therapies, and exploring ways to modulate the tumour microenvironment to enhance anti-tumour immune responses. She is particularly interested in translating laboratory discoveries into clinically relevant cancer therapies.
