Research interests and expertise
Dr George Kastrappis is a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in cancer biology, tumour immunology, and the tumour microenvironment. His research experience encompasses the investigation of molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying cancer progression, with a particular focus on tumour–immune interactions and the development of preclinical cancer models. His expertise includes cellular and molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and in vivo experimental models.
His current research interests focus on advancing cancer immunotherapy, particularly through the development and optimization of adoptive cell therapies, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell approaches. He aims to better understand the mechanisms regulating immune cell function and anti-tumour responses to contribute to the development of more effective therapeutic strategies against cancer.
