KRI Researcher Secures CCRI Funding to Advance Adoptive T-Cell Therapy for Solid Tumours

Dr Philippos Demetriou and Prof Pavlos Costeas at the Karaiskakio Research Institute

We are pleased to announce that Dr Philippos Demetriou, Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Karaiskakio Research Institute (KRI), has secured competitive research funding through the Cyprus Cancer Research Institute (CCRI) Bridges in Research Excellence programme.

The three-year project proposal aims to explore strategies to improve T-cell-based immunotherapies for solid tumours by improving T-cell products and modulating the host tumour microenvironment.

The research will be conducted at KRI under the supervision of Prof Pavlos Costeas, Director of KRI, in collaboration with Dr Triantafyllos Stylianopoulos of the Cancer Biophysics Laboratory (CBL) at the University of Cyprus (UCY).
